Skagen Food Festival invites you to experience one of Denmark’s most iconic coastal regions.
This is a festival for those who travel not only to eat well, but to feel connected to a place. With Skagen as the gastronomic lighthouse and Vendsyssel as its natural pantry, the festival brings together selected chefs, local producers, atmospheric venues and carefully curated experiences that reflect the landscape, the seasons and the people behind the food.
Skagen Food Festival is not a traditional food festival with one central festival site. Instead, it unfolds across Skagen and Vendsyssel through a series of special food experiences created for the occasion – from intimate dinners and producer encounters to signature events, premium tastings and gastronomic moments in remarkable settings.
Here, the meal becomes part of something larger. It is shaped by the sea, the light, the raw materials and the stories of the region. Guests are invited to slow down, explore and enjoy experiences where quality, presence and local produce are at the centre.

The Concept
Skagen Food Festival unfolds over ten days as a carefully curated programme of gastronomic experiences across Vendsyssel.
The festival opens in Aalborg – the natural gateway to the region – and has its grand finale in Skagen. Along the way, guests are invited to discover a programme shaped by quality, local produce, strong venues and the people who bring the Vendsyssel region’s food culture to life.
At the heart of the festival are high-end showcases and signature events created to place Vendsyssel on the culinary map. These experiences bring together selected chefs, Michelin-level inspiration, remarkable venues and local ingredients in formats designed especially for the festival – from exclusive dinners and chef collaborations to gastronomic events in memorable settings.
Alongside the signature programme, the festival offers a broad range of accessible quality experiences for guests who want to taste, meet, explore and take part. This may include tastings, producer visits, local food events, talks, coastal and nature-based experiences, and informal gatherings where the region’s raw materials and food traditions are brought closer to the guest.
Skagen Food Festival also looks ahead. Through selected collaborations with education, young talent and professional kitchens, the festival creates a connection between today’s gastronomy and the next generation of chefs, producers and food professionals.
